Requirements to apply for teachers service commission promotion in 2023
TSC have made things much more straightforward this time. They only require:
- Surname, ID number and TSC number to login.
- Basic details – personal info, etc.
- Scanned copy of your KCSE certificate.
- Scanned copy of tertiary certificate – this could be P1 cert, diploma, or degree.
- Patience – the server is really busy, up to 100k active users during the day.
- Submit and print out the final confirmation. This isn’t mandatory, so you can choose to ignore.

Procedure for application for TSC promotion
Open teachersonline.go.ke, then click active promotion adverts link. you will be taken to this page.
Scroll down and choose the correct advert number, i.e. for teachers applying to be promoted from C1 to C2, select advert number 61 – Senior teacher II (Regular primary school). You do so by clicking the corresponding action button, which opens a dropdown containing the view/apply link.
For those applying for C2 to C3, which is senior teacher 1, the correct advert number is 59, so kindly make sure you choose the correct advert.
The good thing is, even if you choose the wrong advert, the system will throw you off immediately you try to apply by logging in using your surname, id number and TSC number. When this happens, kindly go back and choose the correct advert corresponding to your current grade.
